use of the Genealogical Proof Standard, "GPS" entails "...a
reasonably exhaustive search in reliable sources..." Research
in land records, probate records and court records
supplements the basic genealogical information found in
census and vital records. Newspaper snippets
may also provide a unique view into an
ancestor's past. Tying all of these pieces together using
historical maps gives my clients a complete picture of
their ancestors. My experience in all of these areas, coupled
